Of course it's not poison (tee hee hee)

Hi [INSERT NAME HERE],

People (creatures, plants, animals, anthropomorphic tea cups, etc) in the Wonder-hood don’t get April Fool’s Day. To them, it’s just another day in the Hood.

They really don’t get the days of the week either, but never mind.

The origin of April Fool’s Day? It’s a mystery, so Wonderlandians do like that.

The fact that April Fool’s Day dates back to 1582, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar and the new year began with the spring equinox.

They have a hard time with “France”, “Julian” (except if it’s potatoes), “Gregorian” and “Spring”.

Do they think it’s hi-sterical that people played “pin the fish on the donkey” with the dopes that didn’t get the memo about the start of the new year moving to January 1st?

They actually love that. But they don’t get “January” or calling people “poisson d’avril” (April fish), to symbolize an easily caught fish or gullible person.

You may even ask if they think it’s tied to ancient Hilaria (Latin for joyful), which was celebrated in Rome by the cult of Cybele.

Nope. Even non-Wonderlandians could care less about that.

No. The Wonder-hood will forever associate April Fool’s Day with that classic of all pranks, “NOT POISON”. Yes, it’s a little dark, but every now and then some newbie falls down the rabbit hole and a Wonder-prankster will leave a bottle of this stuff on a table for them to find.

Works every time.

It's fine....

Calm down. Of course it doesn’t kill them, but they do have a doozy of a hangover for about a week. It’s a knee slapper.

So… Happy April Fool’s Day or Wednesday (if anyone here knew what that meant). Yes, I’m sure that’s not really poison. It even says so on the label (tee hee).

Dude, I’ve had a headache all week. What’s in it for me?

Really? Oh, that’s terrible (tee hee).

Bottomline it for me

  • Julienne potatoes are delicious
  • “Poisson d’avril” sounds cooler than “April Fish”.
  • “Hilaria” Everything sounds better in Latin.
  • NOT POISON. What a maroon!

That’s it. I’m not gonna get all mushy.

See ya’ ~ Kevin

p.s. The is a Wonderland mystery. Of course The Socials aren’t poison (tee hee).
