Still stuffed from all your holiday leftovers. Still nursing that sore shoulder from when you lost the arm wrestling match with Uncle Billy for the last piece of pumpkin pie (he totally cheated)?
Still sitting on the couch with your belt undone trying to write yet another witting, enlightening AND informative email to everyone who’s sitting on their couches in their loose fitting sweat pants wondering if that tupperware container with the last bit of stuffing and mashed potatoes might have gotten pushed to the back of the refrigerator?
Yep… and it’s the only time of year I can write the word Tryptophan. There, done ‘til next year.
Well, pause “Holiday Inn”, and prop yourself up on that pillow, cuz the aforementioned tryptophan’s gonna kick in pretty soon, and we gotta get back to me telling you about how we’re making our new immersive and interactive show AliƧin.
Storyboard’s people. Storyboards. They’re not really boards. They’re pieces of paper, or digital pieces of paper with pictures on ‘em. It’s a movie, but it’s flat and it doesn’t move.
You thought making this entertainment stuff was easy, huh?
Yep, non-moving movies. A storyboard lets you “draw” that story out of your head so everyone can see just how crazy you are.
Like this…
But that looks like a stick figure? Sure, but remember, I went to music school, not art school, so gimme a break. It’s also enough for you to take to someone who *went* to art school who will take pity on you, draw new one pictures and make you look good.
Stay with me. Here’s the opening to… AliƧin (wanna see it bigger, click here)
Intriguing, right? Where are we? What’s going on? Is everybody a stick figure?
That’s the secret. Create intrigue and don’t bore people so they’ll hang around to get some of these questions answered. And frustrate the hell out of them when the title “TO BE CONTINUED…” flashes up on the screen.
Dude, seriously, “To Be Continued”? and what’s in it for me?
Sorry, what? I dozed off.
Bottomline it for me
- I’m pretty sure there’s a tupperware in there with *something* in it
- Uncle Billy’s a cheat
- See ya’ next year Tryptophan
- Do they teach stick figures in art school?
That’s it. I’m not gonna get all mushy.
See ya ~ Kevin
p.s. The website actually warms up the leftovers. The socials cheat at pumpkin pie arm wrestling.
